Glenturas was contracted for the high-voltage cable installation on the Celtic Interconnector — a major infrastructure project linking the electricity grids of Ireland and France.
The ongoing works in County Cork involve the installation of 30km of 400kV AC cable and 60km of 320kV DC cable.
To address the challenge of narrow local roads, Glenturas developed a bespoke cable transportation and installation trailer, designed specifically to handle large cable drums within restricted access areas.
